The latest version of DaVinci Resolve is now available. Blackmagic Design released version 17.4.5 earlier this week.

Audio Nesting Update

This update improves the deconstruction of nested timelines for audio tracks. It makes it easier to work collaboratively with Fairlight, enabling you to bring fully edited timelines into master timelines. You can now auto-populate the data and create a new track. This now preserves all aspects of the original edit, including track type, FX, automation and bussing.

DaVinci Resolve and BRAW

If you’re working with an Apple M1 Max system, you’ll experience faster decoding and rendering. Blackmagic RAW (BRAW) 12K files now decode and render 20% faster on the system, resulting in smoother playback and editing.

The update also provides additional decoding support for 6K and 8K clips in Sony Venice.

Subtitling with Mac OS Monterey

Improved accuracy with Text+ fonts in Mac OS Monterey is also included in version 17.4.5.

Other features include better text processing when working with 3D text from TrueType fonts. This means you can work more quickly and precisely when creating titles for your projects.

Additionally, when you import AAF files with retime or mixed frame rates, you’ll be able to import the frame accurately. You will experience playback that matches the original speed adjustments.
