For the 8th consecutive year, Sony is the brand for full-frame mirrorless cameras and lenses. The company announced the news following the report from NPD on February 16.
The highly successful A7III was the no. 1 selling full frame interchangeable lens camera line for the 4th year in a row. Other full-frame cameras include the Alpha 7S, Alpha 7R and Alpha 9 series. The success has been paramount to Sony’s strong sales numbers in recent years.
Additionally, Sony’s full lineup of lenses features 65 different E-mount models. This lineup includes the G Master series and continues to drive industry growth and led the way in sales as well.
Alpha 7 III Mirrorless Camera is Number 1
The Alpha 7 III continued to dominate and was named the number 1 selling full-frame interchangeable lens line for the 4th year in a row. This model is extremely popular across the industry and provides outstanding imaging capability and high-speed performance in a compact body.
The Sony A7 III starts at $1,998.
Alpha 7 IV Hits Record Sales
Sony also saw record sales for the Alpha 7 IV in December 2021. From December 19-26, the Alpha 7 IV had the highest single-week sales of any mirrorless interchangeable lens camera line in the last four years.
